515 – For Those Weary “In” the Battle
You are a soldier. You have been faithful. You have prayed and worked for spiritual revival and awakening. You hate sin. You love God. You share the love of Christ with those around you. You cling to your integrity. You are a good steward. You are a godly parent and spouse. But you are tired. Things are getting worse, not better–or at least that’s the way it appears.
But God is still God. God is still all-powerful, all-knowing and all-wise. God has not been caught off guard by what is happening to you. Instead, He is completely in charge of all things. “I send good times and bad times. I, the Lord, am the one who does these things” (Isaiah 45:7).
God is to sovereignly orchestrating all human events–even the seemingly random things–to bring us into right relationship with Him and right relationship with each other. This will all be over soon.
There is a difference between being weary “in” the battle and “of” the battle. So stay strong. Do not grow weary and lose heart. God always wins.
