You have been faithful. You have done everything God asked you to do. And yet you are not succeeding. People don't "get" you. It feels like God has led you into failure. You cry out to Him in anguish--even question Him. Or, like Jeremiah, accuse God: "Your help seems as uncertain as a seasonal brook, like a spring that has gone dry" (Jeremiah 15:18).
So how will we respond back to Him? Will we doubt God? Or will we humble ourselves, clap our hands over our mouths, confess that we have thought and spoken foolishly, repent, remember the greatness and goodness of God, and persevere in faith by keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith?
