If an adult has an annoying habit, an addiction, bad character, or weighs too much, they're not going to change because of us. We can berate them, manipulate them, or put them down. We can scream, threaten, and pout.
But none of us can change another person. In fact, the more we try the more they resist, right? The one thing that is very difficult to resist is unconditional love. But that means changing us, not them. We need to set boundaries for abusers and sin is sin, but no one changes until they want to change. The only person we can change is ourselves.
