Dear President Bush,
We the people are so proud of all our leaders during this time of crisis and tragedy. Leaders for all quarters have risen to the occasion with stea dy hands and sure minds.
We particularly praise you, Mr. President, for your courage, resolve, and decisiveness. When president Kennedy was asked how he became a hero as the captain of a PT boat he said, “It was involuntary. They sunk my boat.” William Shakespeare once said, “Some men are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” Like Kennedy, you, Mr. President, have had the opportunity for greatness thrust upon you, and you have not missed your moment.
We know a storm is coming, Mr. President, and we take courage to see you stand unflinching at the helm of this ship of state.
