Who could have thought just two weeks ago that salesmen, small business owners, homemakers, truckers, bankers, judges, financial planners, mothers, fathers, children—you and I—would regularly use terms like “hard target,” “jihad,” “commando,” and “retaliation” as part of our normal conversation.
Today, thoughtful men are asking questions like: What's this all about? How should I respond as an American? Is that different than the way I should respond as a Christian? Do we live in a different world now? What do I think? What “should” I think?
Just a Thought for Today: Do you, like me, find that a lot of things that were very important two weeks ago suddenly seem trivial? We need to pray, as a woman I work with said, that things, in one sense, do not get back to normal -that this sense of crisis would be prolonged until the full harvest for eternity has been brought in. Dare I say this? The absolutely worst thing that could happen would be for life to quickly return to “normal.”
