Scary Economic Times

Men, it can be really scary out there right now. The economic dominoes have knocked a lot of us back on our heels.
You may be thinking, “I just don’t see any way this can work out, humanly speaking.” Obviously, you may feel worried, anxious, and even afraid. So what can you do?
The current economic times are not unlike those of the late 1980s, when my whole business came crashing down on top of me. There were days when I would say out loud, “I am just so weary, I don’t know how I can go on for one more day.”
Do you know what got me through? And what will get you through now? It is depending on the trustworthiness of God and His Word.
For example, one day I read, "Have no fear of sudden disaster or the ruin that overtakes the wicked. For the Lord will be your confidence, and he will keep your foot from being snared" (Proverbs 3:25-26).
I believed God’s word, and he did rescue me. Go after Him, and he’ll rescue you too.
I recently taught on Matthew 6:24-31 from the Sermon on the Mount. It’s God’s promise to give us the necessities of life. Jesus tells us not to worry about our lives, what we will eat or wear.
God knows what you need, and Jesus literally guarantees to meet every need. The Bible says that when you seek His kingdom and His righteousness, your needs will be given to you.
Don’t give up. Have no fear of sudden disaster. You’re going to be alright. Why? Because we are not “speaking humanly.”
