Maybe This Really Is Harder Than It Seems
So, are you struggling to reach and disciple men effectively in your church? Are you experiencing the “men’s ministry roller coaster” – up one month, down the next? Do you feel like just when you’re getting traction your efforts start to fishtail and lose ground?
- Gather around yourself at least one or two other men who are passionate about discipling men and pray together. Discipline yourselves not to plan events. Rather, spend significant time praying for the men of your church, and for one another. Become to one another what you want the men of the church to become.
- Go to your pastor. The men of the church are the pastor’s business. You don’t mess with someone’s business without talking to them. Maybe that’s been your roadblock all along. Get on the pastor’s team (not the other way around).
- Consult with experts. Read books like No Man Left Behind. Go to websites like www.disciplemen.com and look for other leaders who have been successful at discipling men and get connected. Attend conferences of men’s leaders in your region or nationally. (Check out www.mimsummit.org)
- Let us help. We’ve learned from thousands of churches what works and what doesn’t. One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that you can’t copy another church’s successful men’s ministry. Every church is different. But there are concepts that underlie all successful efforts. We’d love to share them with you. Call us today at 800-929-2536 and unlock the expertise of 25 years of men’s discipleship.
Yours for the cause of Christ,
Brett Clemmer, Vice President
