Area Director

Jonathan Murray

Birmingham, Alabama

Jonathan Murray is passionate about engaging young men in Birmingham in meaningful relationships that change lives and build the kingdom of God. As a missionary in his community, he brings men together in community gatherings, equips mature Christian men to become mentors, and helps pastors and church leaders develop custom discipleship strategies. Using Man in the Mirror’s proven set of concepts and strategies, he helps men inside and outside of the church reflect honestly, pursue Jesus wholeheartedly, and live vibrantly.

Jonathan Murray has lived in the Birmingham Metro area his entire life, from growing up in the small town of Springville just Northeast of town, to attending college at Samford University and now living in the suburb of Grayson Valley. He is honored and humbled to serve as an Area Director for Man in the Mirror.

Jonathan has a heartbeat for service and a gift for teaching: in his professional life he has been a high school teacher and a Realtor®, and in his personal life he has served as a Youth Pastor, interim Worship Minister and choir member, Sunday school teacher, and lay Men’s Ministry leader. Discipleship and seeing the men of the Birmingham area coming to and growing in Christ are his driving passion.

Jonathan is happily married and has two awesome boys. Aside from spending time with them, he enjoys Nashville Predators and Birmingham Bulls hockey, researching his family genealogy and studying U.S. military history. He’d also like to visit all 50 state highpoints, but he’s not sure how that’s going to work with his fear of heights.
