Transformation: Only One Thing Is Needed

Christianity promises to transform you into a different kind of person, not merely a "better version" of you. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
The goal of life, once born again, is to be transformed. The Bible says, "Do not conform any longer to the values and customs of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Romans 12:2).
How does this happen?
In the story of Mary and Martha, Mary chose to sit at the feet of Jesus--to love, to learn, to be in relationship. Martha chose to work, was distracted, and as a result, thought Jesus didn't care about her. Jesus said, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her" (Luke 10:41-42).
You don't have to micromanage transformation; just be with God.
Mary first--there will be plenty of time for Martha.
